6th Grade Bobkats for 2014-15

Last week 5th graders from Parmley, Turner, Meador, Hardy, and Canaan came to Brabham to experience Bobkat Kamp. They listened to the principals, toured the building, asked questions, and practiced opening lockers.

The Sophistikats drill and dance team earned numerous awards and recognition over the weekend: Military best in category; novelty best in category; Prop best in category; Officers Division 1 Rating; and Middle School Grand Champions!!!

XLR8 Day One

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 marked the first day of XLR8. Students were engaged across the campus in enrichment and tutoring. Teachers met with small, targeted groups of students to help ensure academic success. Other students accelerated their learning in clubs such as Videography, Pre-Athletics, Technology, Wildlife, Art, and others.

Family Math Fun

Nachos and Numbers was a great success this week. Over 400 students and family members enjoyed nachos! Students had fun solving highly engaging math problems. Brabham would like to thank all of the families who participated! Together, we are building a passion for learning while preparing students for high school and lifelong learning.

XLR8: Accelerating Learning and Engagement

Students completed the survey process, which allowed them to make choices about XLR8 enrichment clubs and classes. Two parent meetings were held Monday, January 27, 2014 to help answer questions and listen to concerns. Feedback was optimistic about helping students who need help and enriching students who are mastering core classes.

Bad Weather Make Up Days Feb 17th and April 7th

Willis, TX, Jan 31, 2014– Willis ISD will make up the two missed days of instruction due to the recent bad weather on Monday, February 17, 2014 and Monday, April 7, 2014. Both days were originally scheduled to be holidays for students and professional development for staff.

“Our students missed two days of classroom instruction and we feel it is essential to make up those days at times that will most positively impact student learning,” stated WISD Superintendent Tim Harkrider.
