Late Grade Policy

Students are required to submit assignments to their teachers on or before the assigned due date.

In level courses and elective courses, late work will only be accepted for up to 5 school days after the assigned due date. The assignment will be accepted and graded, but 10 points will be deducted from the earned grade for each school day it is late. For example, if a student turns in an assignment two school days late and earns an 85 on the assignment, the recorded grade will be 85 - 20 (two school days late) = 65. If the assignment is not turned within 5 school days of the due date, a 0 will be recorded for the assignment.

In Pre-AP courses and High School Credit courses, late work will only be accepted for up to school days after the assigned due date. The assignment will be accepted and graded, but 10 points will be deducted from the earned grade for each school day it is late. For example, if a student turns in an assignment two school days late and earns an 85 on the assignment, the recorded grade will be 85 - 20 (two school days late) = 65. If the assignment is not turned within 3 school days of the due date, a 0 will be recorded for the assignment.

If an assignment is not turned in before or on the assigned due date due to an absence, the student has the number of days absent to make up the work and turn it in before points will be deducted. For example, if a student is absent two days, the student will have two days from the return date to complete the missing work for full credit.
