About Mrs. Gilliland

This will be Mrs. Gilliland's first year here at Brabham and she is very excited! She previously taught 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading in New Caney ISD at White Oak Middle School for 8 years, and is very excited to be teaching in Willis ISD this year!
 
Mrs. Gilliland is from Houston, but has been a resident of Willis for the past 8 years. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in May of 2007, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Academic Studies and minor in English Language Arts and Reading. She also obtained a Master's Degree in Education Counseling from The University of Saint Thomas, Houston in December of 2015. She has been married to her husband for 6 years and they enjoy hunting, fishing, and being outdoors!

Career Research Project

Students are working on a career research project during class. I have posted on the calendar section of my website the due dates for the checks on progress.

Students will have a test over "The Scholarship Jacket" 4/13/17

Students will read this story from their textbook Monday and Tuesday. 4/9-4/10

Pre AP Socratic Seminar

Students will need to have four open-ended questions about the short story A Tell Tale Heart. Students received this story and assignment on Friday, November 11th. The seminar is Thursday, November 17th.

Students need to create at least three open-ended questions about the article "Is Anything Wrong With This Picture?" This is due for the socratic seminar on Thursday, November 3rd.

Make sure to create three open-ended questions about the myth "Loo-Wit the Fire Keeper" and have them for tomorrow's (10/28/16) socratic seminar.

No Red Ink

I wanted to let you know that students have the opportunity to work on grammar at home by using the program "No Red Ink". Some classes have already created an account and some have not. I will post the class codes in the class section of my website. If they do not have a username and password they will need to create one.
